Years 10 – 12

IPAS works in conjunction with Ausdance to bring you the highest quality training in your chosen styles of dance. In 2018 we will be offering Jazz, Contemporary, Tap, Street Dance and Classical Ballet (other styles would need to be discussed with principal before enrolling). VET Dance is a scored subject and can contribute to your ATAR

I started as a recreational student then moving into the Elite team and eventually deciding it was the pathway I wished to take for my future. I completed a Certificate IV in Performing Arts as well as VCE and VET Dance Course with IPAS. In year 12 I was honoured to receive a Premiers Award for a perfect VET Dance study score.

Who are our Trainers?
Our VCE VET Dance trainers are all approved holders of the Ausdance CUA20111 Certificate II in Dance. These trainers have relevant accreditation and qualifications, and also current experience. Their skills, knowledge and experience are mapped against each unit of competency they deliver. This information is updated annually and evidence of new professional learning activity is recorded and filed. This information is kept in the Ausdance Victoria RTO Trainer Register.

Our trainers consider individual student needs when finalising training programs and assessment. This may be reflected in changes of approach to training and types of activities, the styles of dance offered, the integration of physical activity with sedentary or group tasks versus independent work.

I feel so lucky I made the choice to take VET Dance in Years 10 and 11 at IPAS. The knowledgeable teachers at IPAS helped me to receive a perfect score of 50 and a Premiers Award! While I did not choose to become a dancer, the benefits I got out of VET Dance were amazing and the contribution to my ATAR helped me get into my University course.
