Performances

Each year each studio holds performances. Performing provides irreplaceable experience and promotes confidence that no other medium can match. It is compulsory for all Full time students to participate in the performances as this attributes to their final assessment*. Please note performances are not compulsory for Part Time and Junior School students but encouraged. There will be at least 2 extra rehearsals close to the concert date which are compulsory for all students performing to attend.

* If a Full time student is unable to attend they must speak to the principal immediately to organize an alternate assessment process

Mind-year Performance - June/July

The Mid year performance will include Full time, VCE & VET dance and some Competition students only.

End of year Concert - November/December

These performances will include all Saturday dance classes (with the exception of beginner Pointe), all competition students, Intermediate/advanced acting classes (Sat), and Junior, Intermediate and Senior singing (Sat).

End of year Cabaret - November/December

This performance will incorporate all other classes not listed above.

Costumes

Who needs costumes?

All performances will require costumes. Depending on the class you take will depend on what type of costume eg: Acting may only be jeans and a top or Classical Ballet may require a tutu.

How do I get the costumes?

Students will be invoiced for end of year performance costumes early in the year. All payments for costumes will be required by the end of term II and costumes will be made in term III. To assist student and parents in budgeting for end of year performances we offer a costume bank. Part Time and Junior students may pay into their accounts at any time through out the first two terms. Full time students must pay a specified amount each term with course payment.

All students participating in performances (except acting, singing and some funk classes) must have paid their costume invoices before we will purchase the fabric and trim etc for you.

Who makes my costumes?

If you need something made your teacher will organize the costume and the dressmaker for you. If you sew yourself you must notify the office when you receive your costume invoice. Please note if you do not use the dressmaker but need their pattern there is a small charge.

Exams

We offer exams for Classical Ballet in the Cecchetti method and Tap exams in Southern Federation of Dance. Both of these are available from beginner levels right through to Teaching Certificates.
