At IPAS our aim is to enhance the full creative development of our students. Our teachers are experienced at knowing how to bring out the best in our children and teens and join with the students in the joy of accomplishing new things.

We encourage all students to reach their highest potential and achieve excellence every step of the way.

Recreational Classes

For students wishing to enjoy their classes and have the option of appearing on our end of year performances and possibly mid year (depending on actual class). We offer recreational classes in all styles of performing arts and there is no extra time commitment other than the class and performance rehearsals for show if you choose to participate.

Competition Classes

We offer competition classes for students who wish to work at the elite level. Students are entered into several competitions a year and may perform many routines at these events.

Competition students are also given the opportunity to represent the studio at many festivals and special functions throughout the year.

If you are accepted into these classes you are required to do at least one Classical and one theatrical technique class in addition to the refinement and age appropriate competition class.

Entry to competition classes is by audition only, please see reception for details on audition date.

Private lessons

IPAS offer private lessons for it's students. Private are excellent for accelerated learning. The "one on one" tuition allows student and teacher to focus more closely on corrections while teaching the student a routine. The routines learnt in private lessons may be either for competition work, just to improve general technique or to "catch up" on class work when needed.

A commitment to class attendance is extremely important for a performer's progress. Excessive absences may mean loosing you place in the class.

Students will receive regular newsletters every term with important information. This newsletter as well as past newsletters are available on our website, at all times.

Is there a dress code?

All dance students must wear tight clothing that enable the teacher to see their bodies movements to allow for corrections. We suggest leotard and tights with crossovers for colder days and for boys pants and a singlet top or tight top if cold. For Funk, Hip-Hop or Break clothing is to be comfortable and non-restrictive. Exam classes have specific uniforms. All long hair must be tied back. Correct footwear is essential.
